TAKE THE FIRST STEP

Let’s start with a free session

I’m here to understand your actual inner world. The context, the history, the roles you were trained to play, and the parts of you you’ve learned to mute.

Real therapy considers the whole of you, not just the labels you’ve absorbed online.

I’m not here to hand you a trendy tool or diagnose your personality through TikTok.

I’M READY FOR CHANGE

I help high-functioning, high-achieving people who do everything for everyone else and don’t feel they have the luxury of slowing down or tending to their own needs.

AND YOU DON’T NEED A THERAPIST WHO GIVES YOU GENERIC TOOLS.

YOU NEED SOMEONE WHO SEES YOU. REALLY SEES YOU.

Therapy is not a shopping cart of techniques. It is a relationship.

I’M READY FOR CHANGE

In our work, I look at the full picture of your humanity: your history, your relationships, your inner narratives, and the patterns that have quietly shaped the way you move through the world.

My job isn’t to offer you a prepackaged modality. It’s to attune to you, deeply, and help you understand yourself with clarity and compassion (and sometimes a bit of humor) — so real change becomes possible.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I’m not here to diagnose you with one buzzword or hand you a single tool meant to ‘fix’ your whole life.

People are far more complex (and far more interesting) than that.

That said, I’m deeply trained in relational, psychodynamic, and systems-based work, and I draw from the following approaches depending on what you and your relationships need:

  • Ackerman Relational Model
  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
  • Object Relations Theory
  • Attachment Theory
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Structural and Strategic Family Therapy
  • Sex Therapy

My clinical training includes certification in COUPLES AND FAMILY THERAPY through the Ackerman Institute for the Family, where I completed my postgraduate work.

MY MODALITIES

I believe humans are too dynamic and complex to rigidly adhere to one model or framework…

I’M READY FOR CHANGE

Freedom from shame.
Freedom from shrinking.
Freedom from oppressive modesty.
Freedom to use your strengths.
Freedom to trust your internal resources.
Freedom to exist as the fully expressed version of yourself.

This work is ultimately about freedom.

AND HONESTLY, THEIR PROBLEMS AREN’T BORING. THEY NEVER HAVE BEEN.

Small talk never held my attention. I’ve always been inclined toward the long, honest conversations where something real takes shape.

My father was an excavating contractor who could talk about dirt and drainage all day long. I realized I was the same way, except my version was relationships, patterns, and history. The way people become who they are.

I feel deeply grateful that my skills and personality converged in a way that allows me to do this work. I love connecting with people, bearing witness as they do the hard work of change, and supporting them as they forge new paths for themselves.

I have always been deeply interested in people and their stories. People are endlessly fascinating and inspiring to me.

Hello, I’m Mary, LCSW

I want to help them neutralize fear, strengthen trust in themselves, and feel grounded enough to take up space in their own lives.

My goal in this work is simple.

I want to help people live more intentionally and more freely on the paths that are uniquely theirs.

My sister and I run summer rental properties that our family built over generations. When our father and aunt passed, we inherited not just houses, but the responsibility and legacy attached to them.

Managing a family business means navigating grief, logistics, sibling dynamics, and the quiet pressure of “keeping things going.”

A lot of my clients know exactly what that feels like — being the one who steps up, who holds the weight, who keeps things running even when it’s heavy.

I find peace and clarity in nature: mountains, trails, quiet mornings, big skies and that groundedness shapes how I show up in the world. Present, steady, curious, and always rooting for freedom.

The Human Stuff

I love cooking for people and being cooked for. Food and connection go together for me.
I love nature and long hikes. I’m a proud Adirondack 46er and climbed 38 of those peaks solo.

I read constantly and love art in all its imperfect, human forms.

I serve an orange cat named Nellie who occasionally joins my therapy sessions uninvited.
I have a big laugh and bake a lot of bundt cakes. There is usually cake somewhere nearby.
I chase rainbows far too literally and probably always will.
I believe pleasure matters and that joy is not something anyone should apologize for.
I’m endlessly curious about people and the world. Travel, learning, deep conversations, and new experiences keep me alive.

Inside the Therapy Room

I come from people who built things with their hands — problem-solvers, fixers, people who didn’t hide from hard work. That’s the energy I bring into therapy.

To me, being a “blue-collar therapist” means I’m not going to sit back and offer vague reflections or abstract theory.

I notice the details you think no one sees. The people in your life, the turning points, the stories beneath the stories. That kind of attunement is where the work begins.

I’m warm but I don’t shy away from truth-telling. I’ll name your patterns with compassion, humor, and a gentleness that doesn’t downplay accountability.
No fluff. No intellectualizing for its own sake.

Just grounded, emotionally intelligent work that helps you understand yourself clearly enough to change your life.

My clients feel that. They walk out knowing their time mattered.

Our sessions felt non-judgmental, action-oriented, and gave space to process how I could incorporate the things I was learning about myself into my choices, career, and relationships. My life looks totally different, and is far more authentic and fulfilling, after working with Mary."

Mary created a relaxed, come-as-you-are environment that allowed me to notice trends and cycles in my life that were holding me back and to sit with emotions I was uncomfortable facing.
