You’re unsatisfied, discouraged, maybe even angry that you can’t fix this the way you fix everything else.

You’ve built a life that checks every box, and somehow you’re still not happy.

You keep asking yourself:

On paper your life looks impressive, but inside? Something feels off…

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR HIGH-ACHIEVING ADULTS IN NEW YORK

START THE CONVERSATION

Why isn’t this working? Why am I not okay?

Maybe there’s some anxiety.
Maybe even depression (even if saying that out loud feels… dramatic).
Maybe it’s just exhaustion that hasn’t let up.

People think you’re fine.
You’re not fine.

  • You don’t feel entitled to your pain.
  • You tell yourself your problems “aren’t that bad” even as they quietly break your heart.
  • You feel self-indulgent for needing help.
  • You show up so consistently for others that they assume you’re fine. They don’t see the parts of you that are exhausted, hurting, or lonely.
  • You extend empathy, patience, support… yet don’t feel it being returned.
  • You wonder if your needs make you “too much.”
  • You’re tired from holding everything together for everyone else.

This is the emotional world of the over-functioner, the caretaker, the high achiever, the “eldest daughter”.

I know that world well.

What you’re carrying (but rarely say out loud)

Therapy is a space to shed the constraints you have learned to live inside of, including expectations from others, internalized rules, and the belief that you must always be strong or certain to be safe.

Together, we build your capacity to tolerate the unknown, trust your inner knowing, and live more openly, honestly, and fully. Growth is not neat or predictable. It is unfamiliar by nature. This work helps you move toward it with confidence rather than fear.

THIS WORK IS ABOUT FREEDOM

The freedom to step out of the roles and pressures that have shaped you, freedom to loosen the grip of fear around not knowing what comes next, and freedom to stop treating vulnerability like a weakness instead of the source of real strength.

I’M READY

Many of the people I work with learned to perform strength early. They became responsible, capable, and self-sufficient long before they felt safe being vulnerable.

That strength served you. It helped you survive, succeed, and hold everything together.

But at some point, that strength became armor, instead of something that truly supported you. You got very good at supporting everyone else and disconnected from what you needed, wanted, or felt underneath it all.

My work is about helping you reconnect to your real strengths, not just the ones built around survival. I’m deeply attuned to what makes you uniquely powerful. I notice the abilities you take for granted and the resources you’ve underutilized, and I help you reclaim your strengths in ways that no longer require you to shrink, hide, or disappear.

I See the Strengths You’ve Been Taught to Downplay

You don’t need to become someone else. You need permission to become more of who you already are.

MORE ABOUT HOW I WORK

Therapy is where we explore why this is happening and what needs to change.

You don’t need to be falling apart to deserve support.

Most high-functioning adults don’t reach a dramatic breaking point.

They reach a moment where pretending they’re fine no longer works.

In our Sessions, we look at the patterns that built your identity:

The family expectations you’ve always upheld
The caretaker role you didn’t choose
The pressure to be competent, calm, and collected
The belief that your needs come last
The resentment that you try not to admit
The grief you’ve been too busy to feel
The responsibilities that were handed to you, not chosen by you
The fear that if you stop overfunctioning, everything will fall apart

Feeling permission to tell the truth about their lives

Feeling unsafe showing vulnerability

Through this work, my clients move from:

Trusting their needs are valid and human

Believing their needs inconvenience people

Choosing what they actually want

Carrying expectations they never agreed to

Setting limits without guilt or collapse

Overfunctioning to keep families or relationships intact

Taking up emotional and relational space with confidence

Shrinking to stay likable or responsible

These are slow, steady, meaningful changes that will last.

BEGIN THE WORK

Sometimes people come in knowing they want things to be different, but they can’t yet see what that difference looks like.

Sometimes they can see it and still feel stuck. Fear, uncertainty, not wanting to rock the boat, not knowing how to begin.

And sometimes they’ve achieved what they set out to achieve, and still feel unsettled. Everything looks fine on paper, but doesn’t feel finished inside.

There’s No Wrong Place to Begin

If your challenges live inside family dynamics, such as sibling relationships, grief over a parent, or multigenerational patterns, Adult Family Therapy may be the right fit.

ADULT FAMILY THERAPY

If your primary questions center around desire, intimacy, or sexual identity, Sex Therapy offers focused support for those conversations individually or with a partner.

SEX THERAPY

If your primary challenges live inside your romantic relationship, Couples Therapy offers support for navigating communication, intimacy, and partnership changes together.

COUPLES THERAPY

Individual therapy is a powerful place to begin, but some people find another starting point fits their current situation better.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. I am considered an out-of-network provider. Many clients choose to use out-of-network benefits for reimbursement, and I can provide documentation if needed.

How much do individual therapy sessions cost?

Individual therapy sessions are $250 for a 60-minute session. I also offer a free initial consultation to explore your goals and make sure we are a good fit.

What issues do you work with in individual therapy?

Common areas we explore include anxiety, depression, burnout, overfunctioning, perfectionism, boundary setting, grief, relationship patterns, family dynamics, identity shifts, people-pleasing, self-trust, shame, and learning how to tolerate the unknown while building a life that feels more authentic.

Do I need to have a specific problem to start therapy?

No. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to begin therapy. Many people start simply because something feels off even if they cannot fully articulate why yet. Therapy is a space to explore, understand patterns, and create meaningful change, not only to manage acute distress.

Who is individual therapy a good fit for?

Individual therapy is ideal for high-achieving adults, caretakers, overfunctioners, and people who feel successful on the outside but overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. Many clients come in struggling with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, boundary issues, relationship stress, or a loss of clarity about what they actually want.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are sessions in person or online?

Individual therapy is offered via secure online telehealth for clients across New York, including NYC. Online sessions allow flexible scheduling and ease of access regardless of location.

How often do clients usually attend sessions?

Most clients attend weekly or biweekly sessions, especially early in the work. Frequency can evolve over time based on your needs, goals, and stage of growth.

How long does therapy last?

There is no fixed timeline. Some people come for a focused period to work through a specific transition or concern. Others stay longer for deeper personal growth. Therapy is collaborative, and the length of work is always guided by what feels supportive and useful for you.

Do you also work with relationship or sexual concerns in individual therapy?

Yes. Many clients explore intimacy issues, desire, sexuality, and relationship concerns individually. I also offer Couples Therapy and Sex Therapy if support is better suited to relational work directly.
